Thanks Laura, :) genetic explanation is fine. It does not go that far though, and it cannot explain the sudden explosion in the number of people having it. Epigenetic modifications do explain it in a more dynamic way: why doesn’t it happen to all of us having the same genetic makeup? Why does it happen at the particular time? Why is it sometimes so different?

My current post goes beyond genetics and dives into hormonal triggers, and their possible interplay. You can check my other blog pieces where I write about other angles of autoimmune diseases.
